Funny Girl

Lily Grace LOVES to color or as she says, "Color-er-er-er-er". (It is the cutest thing!) We love when she lays on the floor to color. She looks so precious and like a big girl, which also makes me sad. When she noticed I was taking pictures of her, she turned around and started showing off. These are just some pictures of her making some funny faces.

Which Will It Be?

HA, HA! Whoever wins, I hope you all have a wonderful day on Saturday and are good sports!

Sunday we had lunch with the Deavours family for Thanksgiving. We had a delicious meal and lots of fun! Lily Grace is just old enough now to go play with the girls. It was too cute and a little more relaxing for Marty and me! McKenzie and Cate are such good little "babysitters"!

Holley's Shower

Saturday morning, a bunch of us girls gave Holley a Baby Shower Brunch for her little girl on the way. Holley got so many beautiful little girl things. We are so excited for you Holley and Rodney AND Hudson! We can't wait for Danni Kate to arrive! Girls are so much fun! We love you all!

Tucker is Home

We had a huge scare with Tucker this week. Late Monday night he started vomiting really bad. Kirsten called the doctor and he said to take him to the big DCH emergency room immediately. On their way, Tucker went completely limp and very pale. His lips turned blue. They called 911 and the ambulance met them half way. Tucker came to and started dry heaving again. The doctors and nurses did many tests on him throughout the night and the next morning. He has severe acid reflux. When Tucker was born, he could not keep formula down at all. When Kirsten's milk came in, it agreed with his stomach and he has been doing great drinking it for the last two weeks. (He actually gained 12 ounces! Praise the Lord!) When they did the x-ray on his tummy, they said that most of the milk had been filling up his tummy, just sitting there and finally it "exploded". That was the reason for the extreme vomiting. The reason he stopped breathing was because the milk had closed up his esophagus. He had a great day Tuesday, even after all the tests and poking. (It took over an hour to take blood!!) He is on Zantac now and will have to drink rice cereal in his milk for the next 6 months. We were so excited because we knew it could be much worse.

They thought they would be going home Wednesday morning. But they did more tests on him and his blood count was not right. Also, the duodenum was turned the wrong way. It is the tube that attaches the intestines and stomach. That afternoon they decided to send him to Children's because if it were to break off he would have to have surgery immediately. They also wanted to do more tests. Almost 12 hours later, the helicopter picked Tucker up. He had to ride alone but at least they got him there quick! At 4 am Thursday morning the surgeons said there was a 90% chance Tucker would have surgery. They would have to take his appendix out and fix the duodenum and it would be a major surgery with a long recovery. But with the power of prayer, late that afternoon the surgeons said there was a 10% chance of surgery. Then late last night the surgeon came back around and said they could go home!! GOD is so good! Tucker still has acid reflux which is not fun at all!! But Tucker has been so wonderful through this whole situation. Please continue to pray for our little man and Kirsten. It is so hard to have a sick baby and she is a new mommy. I know this has all been so hard on her but she is being so strong. She needs all the encouragement we can give her. Thank you all for being such wonderful family and friends through this all. We all appreciate it and you all mean so much to us. I hope you all have a blessed weekend and I love each of you dearly.

Pray for Tucker

Please keep our little Tucker in your prayers. We will have more details posted in the next few days. He has only been in our lives for two weeks and we love him so very much!

This was last Sunday. Lily Grace is just crazy about her little cousin!! And Grandmommy is crazy too about having two grand babies sitting in her lap!!

Giving him love

Church Pancake Breakfast

This past Saturday we had a Pancake Breakfast for the Infant through Pre-K age group at church. We had a great time and especially Lily Grace! She got to play with all her little friends and we made aprons! We even found out Lily Grace loves bacon!

November with the Burnett's

This month the Burnett's came over to our house for dinner. I cooked them a Thanksgiving meal with chicken and dressing and all the extras and we had a wonderful time. The kids just love each other so much, as you can see!! We really don't know what to think about all this kissing each other though! HA!
They brought the school bus with them! Lily Grace laughed so hard at Weston for the longest time! They were cracking us up!
Marty and I laughed until we cried when we saw this picture. It looks like she is trying to escape. Look at her hand up top pressed against the bus. Too funny!
How sweet are they?! We love y'all Glee, Charlie, and Weston and can't wait till next month! We had the best time!

More with Tucker

Lily Grace is so in love with Tucker. We are so anxious to see him tomorrow! We have really missed him. Hopefully he hasn't changed too much since LAST SUNDAY! We cannot go another whole week without seeing him!! These are some pictures from then.

Kirsten kept reminding me it was just gas, but I don't believe it!!!

Chuck E Cheese

I did not realize I had these pictures on my computer and I just found them. Thank you Kirsten! When Lily Grace spent the night with Grandmommy a few weekends ago, Grandmommy, MawMaw, and Aunt KirKir took her for her first trip to Chuck E Cheese! I wish I could have been there to experience it because they said it was a lot of fun. She LOVED putting the coins in, taking the tickets out, throwing the balls, and was very scared of Chuck E!

18 Months Old

Saturday Lily Grace turned 18 months old. Wow! She is getting so big and doing something new everyday. She is talking so much more now! It is unbelievable some of the things she says. She will repeat just about anything you say. Some of her favorite phrases are: "Here you go", "Here it is", "Here I am", "There you go", "There it is", you've got the idea! And there are too many words to count that she says! Since the passy has been taken away, her vocabulary has really grown. I love to watch her sit down with a book and will look through it, naming different things on the pages.

She also is really into taking care of baby dolls. She is so sweet with them by feeding, bathing, changing their diapers, and rocking them to sleep while saying, "Rock, Rock". She already has that mother's instinct.

And she loves to "color-er" (as Lily Grace would say). Some other favorite things she does is carry around purses or a backpack and put on make-up with Mommy. She is a little girly girl but still likes to get dirty outside! And she would brush her teeth all day long if we would let her! I hope she continues to want to do this when she gets older!

Lily Grace's sleeping patterns are still not great at this point but we are trying some new things and with lots of patience and prayer, maybe she will be sleeping better soon. She is still precious as can be but a little stinker at the same time. We love her so much and wish she would stop growing so fast!!

Saturday we met with Kim to have her portraits taken. Kim was so patient with Lily Grace even though LG made it very hard to take pictures of her. She was not too excited about getting her pictures made AT ALL!! (Sorry Kim!) Kim did great and got some great shots. You can view her pictures on Kim's website. Password: james1. Thank you Kim for all your hard work!
Before Kim met us we took a few pictures ourselves. Not professional at all, but pictures of our pretty little 18 month old!
