Birmingham Zoo

Saturday we met up with Marty's brother's family for a trip to the Birmingham Zoo. We have never seen a zoo so packed! I guess since it was the first pretty weekend we have had in a while and all the schools are out, everyone decided to go! It didn't stop us from having a good time though! We did the whole zoo and had lots of fun. We were exhausted by the time it was over! Whew!

Before we went in to the zoo, we had a nice picnic together. Pat and Brandi picked us up some hamburgers from Hamburger Heaven. I had never had a burger from there and they were yummy!!
Lily Grace is crazy about animals. Her favorite movie at the time is Lion King, so she loved seeing all the animals from the Lion King!
We were so sad we did not get the feed the giraffes. They were not doing it at the time we went through. We still loved seeing them. They were about the only "bigger" animals really moving around.
Checking out the hippo on Daddy's shoulders. He looked like a big rock in the water. He wouldn't come out! Marty thought he was dead!!
The monkeys did put on a great show for us though! Lily Grace sat here for a very long time. I didn't think we were ever going to get to move.
The monkeys liked Braiden! They came to sit right beside him.
Braiden on the train ride. The train ride was very cool and relaxing.
Lily Grace was a little scared the alligator! I was too, he looks scary!
The kangaroos. This is how most of all the animals were in the zoo. At least we could see these. A lot of the other ones were hiding in the "caves" or behind trees, I guess where it was cool. They were all being lazy animals that day!
This was the BEST part!! You could buy a little cup of some type of liquid (maybe sugar water) and walk into this big bird cage. The birds would land on you and drink the water. It was awesome!! One actually landed on my head! We all were laughing so hard in here.
Lily Grace loved it. She wanted to hold them so bad!

Lily Grace loved her first carousel ride. She picked the tiger to ride. If you look at her face, you can see how excited she was about it.
They have a petting zoo at the zoo now. We went in to play with the goats and sheep.
This picture is for Granddaddy!! Lily Grace cried to hold the snake but they would only let her pet him.
As we were about to leave, Braiden and Lily Grace found the mister. They thought this was fun!
I am so glad we did this and we look forward to another trip to the zoo in the future with y'all!
We had lots of fun and love you guys!

Happy Birthday to Me!

Friday was my birthday. Every year keeps getting better and better! Marty and Lily Grace are just so wonderful! Friday night we went out to eat with my family. We decided to try Oyster Bay in Tuscaloosa. It was pretty good, a great buffet. We didn't have the best experience with Lily Grace and her behavior but it was still great going out with the whole family. Thank you to everyone for the birthday wishes, cards, and gifts. I love you all!

Lunch with Kim and Beau

Friday Kim wanted to take me out for my birthday so we took the kids to Tokyo for lunch. Then we went to the mall for a little while. We always have the best time with them! Lily Grace just loves Beau so much. This is them riding rides at the mall. I didn't think we would get them off! Thank you Kim for lunch and all the sweet gifts. I love you guys! I can't wait for our little trip at the end of this month!

Washing the Car

Thursday morning, Lily Grace and I went outside to wash the car. I put her in her bathing suit and brought the water table around hoping she would play in it the whole time. Instead she wanted to play in the soap and help Mommy wash the car. It was a lot of fun but much for work doing it with a two year old! I waited until she was down for her nap to clean out the inside, HA!

She finally started playing in her own water, for a few minutes at least.

Happy Birthday Grandmommy!!

Happy Birthday to you, Happy Birthday to you, Happy Birthday to Grandmommy, Happy Birthday to you!!!
I love you sooooo much!!!
Grandmommy turned 50 this past Sunday! Marty just joking with her, telling everyone she is half a century old!! We went and surprised her at church and spent the whole next two days with her. We had lots of fun grilling out and spending time with the family celebrating Grandmommy's birthday and Memorial Day. We hope you had a great one. We love you more than the world!

Oh, and Lily Grace gave her the best birthday present ever. She said "Grandmommy" perfectly for the very first time on her birthday! Grandmommy was soooo happy! Lily Grace has pretty much been calling her Mama or Mommy since she has been talking but now she says Grandmommy all the time! Yea!

Tool and Gadget Party

Last Saturday we had a Tool and Gadget party for the last of the buds! One of Marty's closest friends, Michael Gurley is getting married this upcoming Saturday to Angela McGee. The party was at Mr. Preston and Mrs. Dexine's house. It was so nice and lots of fun seeing everyone. We are so excited for them and look forward to this weekend!

The crew of guys. There are seven of them and they have been close friends since kids and stayed friends after all these years! Crocker is the only one missing. He lives in Texas but we are looking forward to seeing him at the wedding.

Outside with Daddy

The other afternoon when I wasn't home, Marty took Lily Grace outside to play. While she played, he grilled them some dinner. He made sure to take pictures to show me. She loves playing outside with Daddy!
Getting a little brave
I can't believe she did that!

IT"S A BOY!!!!!!!!!!!

Tuesday we went in for our ultrasound to make sure everything was checking out right and to find out what we are having. We were so excited to find out it was a boy! His name is

Cooper Preston James

It is going to be a different world not only having two kids but also a little boy in the house!! We are very excited. It did not matter to us the sex of the baby as long as the baby is healthy but we are thrilled. He is a very big baby as of now. We will know more in the next month or so about due dates and size. He is in the 97th percentile on his weight! He weighed 10 ounces and should have only weighed about 5 1/2 ounces on average. So we may have a big one! Not only is he a "fat baby" according to the ultrasound nurse and doctor but he is also very long. Maybe Marty will have is basketball player after all. We already know one thing for sure. He has Marty's big toe!! Even in the first picture you will see him bending it back, just like Marty does with his. HA! Here are lots of ultrasound pictures of our little man. Please keep him and us in your prayers.

A Very Sad Good-bye

Last night we went out to eat with the Townsends and some other friends before church. They are moving to Tennessee today. So dinner was so much fun but at the same time very sad. Lily Grace and Eleigh Kaye love each other so much and I know they are really going to miss each just like I am going to miss Jenn. They had their sweet little Emma Bess last week. She is so precious! I am so happy for them and I pray this new chapter in their lives brings them much happiness. Townsends, We love and will miss you very much!!

Brennon's Baseball Game

Monday night we went to Cullman to watch Brennon play in a baseball game. They WON! Brennon did great. He usually pitches but he didn't pitch this particular evening and played 3rd base. He did awesome though! We were very proud of him. After the game we went out for yummy Mexican. It was a little wild in the restaurant but it was a wonderful visit. Thank y'all for inviting us!

Braiden loves some popcorn

Lily Grace and Madi played on the playground most of the time. Madi is the best little babysitter!

She Knows Some Spanish!

There is one good thing that comes from watching Dora and Diego! Lily Grace can speak a little Spanish now. She probably has been doing it for a while and we just didn't realise it until this weekend. She laid my phone down on the ground and said "Down and then the Spanish word for it". (I am not going to even try and spell the Spanish words, HA!) So we got really excited and started asking her other questions. She knew up, green, and she could count from one to ten in Spanish! Now we will know to start listening for her Spanish words to see if she knows more. We were very excited about it though. Oh, and when she says hello now to people, she usually says "Hola!" :)

Saturday

Saturday was a busy day! We were supposed to have pictures that morning but because of the rain, that was canceled. Then we headed to Berry to help Mother get ready for a party at her house. We took a break from that and went to Tre's Birthday party for a little bit. Then back to Mother's to help some more. She kicked us out :) and we went to the church for a fish fry. We came back to the house for the last of the party though. It was so nice out after the rain from the day, we played outside for a while. Saturdays for our family seem to always be busy, busy and it doesn't look like it will calm down for quite a while. But they are always fun!!

Happy 2nd Birthday Tre!

Lily Grace liked playing with Tre's puzzle...

.....and with Tre!

Back at Grandmommy's house, she found her a frog! She played with that thing for the longest!
