Our Story

Marty and I met on a blind date September 27th, 2004 and it was love at first site! Shortly afterwards we were engaged in February and married on July 2nd, 2005. We live in Brent. We are the proud parents of Lily Grace and Cooper Preston. LG was born on May 8th, 2007 at 12:16 p.m. She weighed 7lbs. 14 ozs. and was 20 inches long. Cooper was born on October 11th, 2009 at 6:10 a.m. He weighed 9 lbs. 4 oz. and was 21 inches long. We have been blessed! About Peyton: My parents are Debbie and Randy Deavours (Grandmommy and Pop), Sister Kirsten, Brother Skyler, Nephew Tucker. My hometown is Berry, Al. I graduated from the University of Alabama in May 2007 with a BS in Elementary Education but as of now I have the best job in the world, a stay at home mommy! I also have a liitle business out of my house where I create and sell personalized gifts and invitations. See my website! About Marty: My parents are Dexine and Preston James (Grandmama and Granddaddy) and Brother Pat. Sister-in-law Brandi, niece Madilyn, and nephews Brennon and Braiden. My hometown is Brent, Al. I graduated from The U of A in 1999 with a BS in MIS with a Minor in CS. Also from Shelton State I have an AS in Business Administration and AS in Drafting Technology. I work as a Computer Office Manager at Scott Davis Timber Company. I really love my job. A Day with "Aunt" Crystal

Today we spent the day with "Aunt" Crystal in Birmingham for a little shopping and eating out. We shopped at the Summit for a while, had a delicious lunch at Superior Grill, and then shopping at Ross. We had a wonderful time even though we got lost a few times!!!! Too much talking and not enough paying attention to the exits!! It was a great day and we both love you "Aunt" Crystal very much!! Thank you for my Birthday Lunch!

Yesterday was my birthday and the best birthday I have ever had! I got to spend the whole day with the greatest little girl in the world! Then my wonderful husband got off work early and gave me presents. Hey Scrapbooking Girls, I got my Cricut!!! Yea!!! I got lots of other nice things as well from him and Lily Grace. Thank you both, you did way too much! Then we left to go meet my family in Tuscaloosa to eat out at Chuck's Fish. Yummy Sushi! Thank you Mother for the beautiful platter, Kirsten for the cute shirt and earrings and MawMaw for the moolah! It was a great day and I have been blessed beyond belief for 24 years! Thank you all for being apart of my life in someway for the the past 24 years and I look forward to 24 more with you! I love you all!

We finally found time to put together Lily Grace's birthday present from us. We played on it Thursday morning and had the best time! She loves to swing, she sometimes loves the slide, and she is starting to learn how to climb up the steps. Her favorite part though is standing up on top, playing with the toys. It is a great outside "gym" for toddlers!

Walking Everywhere

It was like we turned on a light switch! Last night, Lily Grace started crawling and pulling up and then today she started climbing on things and tonight she started walking everywhere by herself! It was amazing how all of a sudden she let go and went all the way across the room! Then she thought she was so big and did it over and over and over again. So now I guess she will be on the move a lot more! Watch out!

I forgot to post that Lily Grace had her one year portraits made on May 17th. Kim did a wonderful job and was very patient with Lily Grace!! We appreciate Kim so much and we think she a very talented photographer! We think the pictures are beautiful and we hope you enjoy looking at them.

Today we celebrate Memorial Day with the Deavours family at the lake. We had a wonderful time and a delicious lunch! It was great to see everyone and hope to see them all again very soon. I hope you all have a very Happy Memorial Day!

It is unbelievable how much more she is letting go and walking by herself. And last night she even climbed a stair all by herself, over and over again. Then tonight when we got home she pulled up for the first time!! She even crawled, which she never does, over to the little table to pull up! We have reached a couple more milestones!

Keep Mrs. Robin in your Prayers!

Today, we went to see Mrs. Robin Clements in the Hospital. Her surgery today was a success but still she has a very long road of recovery. I was so thankful that Mother and I were able to go sit with her and hold her hand for a while. We had to finally leave because she wouldn't stop talking and she needed her rest! If you know Mrs. Robin, you know how that is! She is the sweetest and most precious woman I know, an angel sent to earth. I love her dearly and she means so much to my entire family. We are so very blessed to have her apart of our lives. Please keep her in your prayers throughout her long recovery. We love you so much Mrs. Robin!

Saturday night was the big night out with the girls. We started the day off with trying on our beautiful bridesmaids dresses. I can't wait to wear it! Then we went over to Cindyee Grey's Mother's house for a luncheon and relaxing by the pool. After getting some sun, we all got ready for the big night. We headed off the Wilhagen's for dinner and gifts. Even though we got many stares from tons of people, we had a fabulous night out together!
