Our Story

Marty and I met on a blind date September 27th, 2004 and it was love at first site! Shortly afterwards we were engaged in February and married on July 2nd, 2005. We live in Brent. We are the proud parents of Lily Grace and Cooper Preston. LG was born on May 8th, 2007 at 12:16 p.m. She weighed 7lbs. 14 ozs. and was 20 inches long. Cooper was born on October 11th, 2009 at 6:10 a.m. He weighed 9 lbs. 4 oz. and was 21 inches long. We have been blessed! About Peyton: My parents are Debbie and Randy Deavours (Grandmommy and Pop), Sister Kirsten, Brother Skyler, Nephew Tucker. My hometown is Berry, Al. I graduated from the University of Alabama in May 2007 with a BS in Elementary Education but as of now I have the best job in the world, a stay at home mommy! I also have a liitle business out of my house where I create and sell personalized gifts and invitations. See my website! About Marty: My parents are Dexine and Preston James (Grandmama and Granddaddy) and Brother Pat. Sister-in-law Brandi, niece Madilyn, and nephews Brennon and Braiden. My hometown is Brent, Al. I graduated from The U of A in 1999 with a BS in MIS with a Minor in CS. Also from Shelton State I have an AS in Business Administration and AS in Drafting Technology. I work as a Computer Office Manager at Scott Davis Timber Company. I really love my job. Cooper's First Church Service

December 13th was Cooper's first time to church.

He likes to look at his little toys on his car seat.

Later that evening Granddaddy and MawMaw came over for a visit.

Cooper is very relaxed sitting in Granddaddy's lap.

The picture didn't turn out so great but it is such a sweet picture with all three of the great-gran's in their laps.

The evening of December 12th we took Grandmama her favorite meal cooked by Mommy (spaghetti) for her birthday. And then had caramel cake for dessert. We had a wonderful time celebrating Grandmama's birthday with her.

We love you Grandmama so much! Hope you had a great birthday!

December 12th Lily Grace and I went to Danni Kate's 1st Birthday party. It was a lot of fun! She really enjoyed her cake, as you can see in the pictures :)

Marty probably should post this one because I did not get to go for this visit. Grandmama and Granddaddy helped Marty with the kids while I stayed home working on orders. I appreciated it so much because I got a lot of work done but I really missed being down there with them. I always enjoy my visits with them.

They put out the train around the Christmas Tree this year. I think LG really liked it a lot. She looked like she really enjoyed watching it go with Granddaddy.

She loves this Santa as much as she did last year. I wonder if she will be taller than him next year?

Cooper is such a happy baby....(most of the time) He is such a sweetie!

Lily Grace loves to wear things of mine - high heel shoes are her favorite, necklaces, glasses, hats, socks, make-up, just about anything! It was really chilly in the house this day so I had my robe on and of course she had to wear it. I told her she looked like the kids off of Harry Potter :)

I got a treat that night. I got to go out with one of my bestest friends in the world - Becky. We only get to do this two or three times a year and it is so nice when we get together. We ate sushi and watched Old Dogs. It is so funny and clean! I wish they made more movies like that. Love you Becks!

Elf on the Shelf

We started Elf on the Shelf last year but Lily Grace was too young to understand. This year she understood a little better but still wanted to touch the elf which is a big no, no. So I let her hold it while I read the story to her and then it went straight to the shelf and stayed there the whole month. He still doesn't have a name but I am sure next year LG will come up with something and he will start moving!

Every year we go with Marty's parents to their Christmas party at their church. It is always a lot of fun and has become a tradition we wouldn't want to miss. We have lots of good food and play a fun game of Dirty Santa.

Lily Grace helped Grandmama open up her present she chose. It was tangerines!!! Lily Grace was very excited and wanted to eat them right away. Granddaddy peeled one for her to eat before she ate the peeling!

Deavours Christmas Pictures

It is always so funny when we take the family pictures of the Deavours Christmas card. I wish I could put all the pictures on here because it is a good laugh. These two were actually pretty good. In the others, Lily Grace was screaming because she wanted to play in the rocks and then in all of them the other two babies were sound asleep. And it was so hard to find one where everyone was looking at the camera and everyone with eyes open. I am sure it will be much easier once the babies get older.

Marty is usually our photographer in the family but I actually took this picture! Can you believe it?!?! It was very hard but I did just for Mrs. Dexine. I thought she would really like it. I have to say, she is even beautiful in something Bama :)
