On May 17th, we went to Tre's first birthday party in Fayette. We had so much fun and it was great to see the Davis family. We love the Davis family very much and we want to wish Tre a very Happy Birthday! We look forward to Lily Grace and Tre growing up together!
On May 15th, I took Lily Grace to her one year check-up. These checkups get harder and harder every time we go! Now that she is walking a lot more (still holding on to things most of the time), she wants down to walk around and check things out. So I am chasing her all over the waiting room, anxiously waiting for the nurse to call us back. Once we get called back, there isn't anything to interesting in the room so I have to keep her entertained. Then, when the doctor gets called back, the screaming starts. I am talking about screaming from the tops of her lungs, turning blue, and holding her breath. She claws me to death, trying to get away from him. She didn't use to do this but ever since he cleaned out her ears one time, she hates him. And she doesn't stop screaming until he leaves the room. I feel so bad but I don't know what to do with her. He said everything looked good and we really need to be weaning her from the bottle. We are trying very hard!! Once he left, she had screamed so much she fell asleep. Then it was time for the three shots. The nurse woke her up sticking one in her leg. I think Lily Grace was in shock. But she still didn't cry near as bad as she did when the doctor was in the room. Maybe, the future appointments will be a better experience for me and her! Her next appointment is not until August and I pray we don't see them again until then!
This was my second Mother's Day and what a blessed one it was! I am so fortunate to have a healthy, beautiful, and loving child. I just think sometimes, what did I ever do to deserve her? I thank GOD many times a day for blessing me with Lily Grace (and Marty as well). I love being a Mother and there is nothing like it in the world! And I am also thankful that I have been given the chance to stay home with my daughter. It is the best job ever! I don't know if I will be able to do that forever, but I am soaking up every minute of it that I can!! I hope that each and every one of you Mothers out there had a wonderful day! Thank you GOD for our wonderful children!
A baby asked God, 'They tell me you are sending me to earth tomorrow, but
how am I going to live there being so small and helpless?'
The child further inquired, 'But tell me, here in heaven I don't have to
love and be very happy.'
Again the child asked, 'And how am I going to be able to understand when
people talk to me if I don't know the language?'
with much patience and care, your angel will teach you how to speak.'
'And what am I going to do when I want to talk to you?'
'Who will protect me?'
'But I will always be sad because I will not see you anymore.'
come back to Me, even though I will always be next to you.'
At that moment there was much peace in Heaven, but voices from Earth could
be heard and the child hurriedly asked, 'God, if I am to leave now, please
God said, 'You will simply call her, 'Mom.'
On May 10th, we rode with Grandmama and Granddaddy to Decatur to watch Madi in her dance recital. I look forward to these every year since I have been in the family. It is truly a wonderful show! Madi was so beautiful and did a great job! She has turned into a very talented little dancer. Lily Grace watched entire hour and a half show with a little intermission nap. She seemed to be very interested. We can't wait till next year to come watch again!!
