Like Mother, Like Daughter

For Crystal's lingerie/bachorlette party, we had an 80's theme and of course we have to dress up. So I was trying on my outfit and then Lily Grace wanted to try it on too! Too Cute!!!! She is an 80's Girl!!

Happy Birthday Grandmommy!!!

May 24th was Grandmommy's birthday and we celebrated it with her at Tokyo! We had a fun time and Lily Grace liked watching the show from the cook. She also liked the soup and noodles. We wish her a very happy birthday and many, many more with us!! We love you so much Grandmommy!!!!

On May 17th, Marty and I went to Crystal and Riley's Around the Clock Party at the North River Gold Club. It was such a nice party with delicious food! We had a wonderful time spending time with the two them and her parents. We had 5 o'clock, so I gave her lots of scrapbooking stuff to get her started on a wedding book. It was the perfect time because I start my scrapbooking night at church at 5 o'clock. I hope she will come!! We are still excited about the big day, not far away!!

Happy Birthday Tre!!!

On May 17th, we went to Tre's first birthday party in Fayette. We had so much fun and it was great to see the Davis family. We love the Davis family very much and we want to wish Tre a very Happy Birthday! We look forward to Lily Grace and Tre growing up together!

The Birthday Boy

Lily Grace liked Tre's birthday cake

The farm theme was too cute! Our little piggy!
Tre liked one of the shirts we got him! He wore it on his head for a little while. It was funny.

One Year Check-up

On May 15th, I took Lily Grace to her one year check-up. These checkups get harder and harder every time we go! Now that she is walking a lot more (still holding on to things most of the time), she wants down to walk around and check things out. So I am chasing her all over the waiting room, anxiously waiting for the nurse to call us back. Once we get called back, there isn't anything to interesting in the room so I have to keep her entertained. Then, when the doctor gets called back, the screaming starts. I am talking about screaming from the tops of her lungs, turning blue, and holding her breath. She claws me to death, trying to get away from him. She didn't use to do this but ever since he cleaned out her ears one time, she hates him. And she doesn't stop screaming until he leaves the room. I feel so bad but I don't know what to do with her. He said everything looked good and we really need to be weaning her from the bottle. We are trying very hard!! Once he left, she had screamed so much she fell asleep. Then it was time for the three shots. The nurse woke her up sticking one in her leg. I think Lily Grace was in shock. But she still didn't cry near as bad as she did when the doctor was in the room. Maybe, the future appointments will be a better experience for me and her! Her next appointment is not until August and I pray we don't see them again until then!

She weighed 23 lbs and 10 oz. (it kept going over 24 lbs and back and forth so we just settled on this weight, she wouldn't be still) and was 30 1/2 inches long.

She wouldn't let Mommy read the one year information because she wanted to read it!

She seemed to be happier once we got home.
A lot happier!!

A MDO Field Trip to the Park

On May 12th, I took my MDO children to the park in Centreville for a little end of the school year trip. We had a great time and the weather was perfect! Not too hot and not too cold. Lily Grace loves all the children at MDO and she loves being outside, so this was the best trip for her. I will not open MDO back up until June 16th for a six week summer program. We will also only meet on Mondays and Wednesdays. So Lily Grace and I have a little break to spend some time at home together, Yea!!

The MDO crew

The river was muddy!

Lily Grace loves to swing

She also loves to slide!

We fed the ducks and geese while we were there. The geese were so mean! They were chasing us! Lily Grace didn't know what to think about them.

What a Blessed Mother's Day

This was my second Mother's Day and what a blessed one it was! I am so fortunate to have a healthy, beautiful, and loving child. I just think sometimes, what did I ever do to deserve her? I thank GOD many times a day for blessing me with Lily Grace (and Marty as well). I love being a Mother and there is nothing like it in the world! And I am also thankful that I have been given the chance to stay home with my daughter. It is the best job ever! I don't know if I will be able to do that forever, but I am soaking up every minute of it that I can!! I hope that each and every one of you Mothers out there had a wonderful day! Thank you GOD for our wonderful children!

My true Mother's Day gift ~ The BEST gift in the whole wide world!!!
I thought this was the sweetest little story and I wanted to share it with all you Mothers!
A newborn's conversation with God....
A baby asked God, 'They tell me you are sending me to earth tomorrow, but
how am I going to live there being so small and helpless?'
God said, 'Yourangel will be waiting for you and will take care of you.'
The child further inquired, 'But tell me, here in heaven I don't have to
do anything but sing and smile to be happy.'
God said, 'Your angel will sing for you and will also smile for you. And you will feel your angel's
love and be very happy.'
Again the child asked, 'And how am I going to be able to understand when
people talk to me if I don't know the language?'
God said, 'Your angel will tell you the most beautiful and sweet words you will ever hear, and
with much patience and care, your angel will teach you how to speak.'
'And what am I going to do when I want to talk to you?'
God said, 'Your angel will place your hands together and will teach you how to pray.'
'Who will protect me?'
God said, 'Your angel will defend you even if it means risking its life.'
'But I will always be sad because I will not see you anymore.'
God said, 'Your angel will always talk to you about Me and will teach you the way to
come back to Me, even though I will always be next to you.'
At that moment there was much peace in Heaven, but voices from Earth could
be heard and the child hurriedly asked, 'God, if I am to leave now, please
tell me my angel's name.'
God said, 'You will simply call her, 'Mom.'
Happy Mother's Day, I love you all!!

Madilyn's Dance Recital

On May 10th, we rode with Grandmama and Granddaddy to Decatur to watch Madi in her dance recital. I look forward to these every year since I have been in the family. It is truly a wonderful show! Madi was so beautiful and did a great job! She has turned into a very talented little dancer. Lily Grace watched entire hour and a half show with a little intermission nap. She seemed to be very interested. We can't wait till next year to come watch again!!

Madi, you are so beautiful and did a fabulous job! We are very proud of you and love you tons!

A great family outing!

First Time to Ride

On May 9th, Lily Grace took her first ride in her new "big girl" car seat. She really likes it a lot! Now she points to things and giggles as she is looking through the windshield window. It hasn't been too bad with her "wanting" me either like we were afraid of. So the experience with the forward car seat has gone great so far!
