Grocery Time

This afternoon we did a little grocery shopping for the Thanksgiving Dinners coming up. I usually take her in the store still in her car seat and snap it into the buggy. Well now that she is sitting up all by herself, we got to use this shopping cart cover and she was able to sit up and see everything much better! She loved Wal-Mart even more!!

A Day with Uncle Rip

After the check-up, we met up with Pop, Grandmommy and Uncle Skyler to leave for Bulter, Alabama to visit with our Uncle Rip. Lily Grace slept the whole way there and back. She was such a sweet little girl and loved her Uncle Rip. This was the first time for them to meet and as soon as she saw him she started smiling and grabbed his face for some lovin'. Uncle Rip was so excited to see us and it was a great trip!

Uncle Rip telling us stories and Lily Grace listening closely.

Lily Grace loved sitting in Uncle Rip's lap.

6 Month Check-Up

This morning I took Lily Grace to the doctor for her 6 month check-up. It was the longest wait we have ever had but she was super good for me. She weighed 18 lbs 10.5 oz. and was 27 inches long. She got her normal set of shots including a flu shot. She started crying after the first shot and stopped as soon as I picked her up with a big smile. We go back in 30 days for the other half of the flu shot and in three months for her 9 month check-up. Our baby is getting so big!

MaMa DaDa... Pinch Pinch

We aren't just hearing AEIOU anymore! Lily Grace is using consonants fluently now. We are hearing Mamma and DaDa a whole lot but also lots of GaGa and other gibberish. So I don't guess she really knows what she is saying but we are still enjoying Lily Grace saying our names for the first time whether she knows or not. She just rambles on and on really letting us know something! It really is cute. Tonight she didn't even want to go to sleep because she wanted to talk to us. She has just figured out that she could talk like this sometime during the weekend and boy is she having fun with it!

Another thing she is doing, that isn't too cute.....Pinching. She doesn't understand that she is hurting you but oh my does it hurt! She gets so excited and will grab your face, neck, arm, or whatever she can grab and pinch the fire out of it! This is not very fun for us but it is something new she is doing now and we are hoping she will grow out of soon!!!

6 Month Pictures

Last Saturday, on the 10th, we took Lily Grace for her 6 month pictures at Kim Lawson's. They are now ready for viewing on her website. The link to her pictures is: http://www.kimlawsonphotography.com/gallery.php?page=James . We think they are wonderful! They are mixed in with our Christmas pictures and her fall pictures, so make sure you go through all the pictures until the very end. She had already started sitting up on her own some before that day, but during the pictures she sat up a lot! You will be able to see in the pictures and now ever since then, she is sitting up all the time. We are really excited about the pictures and we hope you like them as much as we did!

James Family Reunion

Last night we went to the annual McMillan/Smith (Granddaddy James side) Family Reunion. We were so happy that it was held in Alabama this year at Aunt Martha Grace's house! It was great to see everyone and meet a lot of family members we haven't met before. Lily Grace seemed to have a really good time, smiling and waving at everyone. She especially enjoyed seeing Madilyn. She just loves her to death! I wished we lived closer to each other so she could be our little babysitter!! We had fun and we love Family Reunions!

Granddaddy and Grandmamma with all the kids and grandkids Lily Grace with Mommy and her favorite cousin Madilyn Lily Grace was so happy to see Madilyn Mommy with "Aunt" Meg. Meg is expecting a baby in April, YEA!!!
Lily Grace with Mommy and her little cousin Heidi.
These were all the little kids that were at the reunion last night.
These are not even all the kids in the whole family!

Lily Grace loves her Aunt Brandi especially because she let her take the entire table runner of the table to play with.

Busy Days

The past few days have been very busy! Thursday I babysat Garrett and Shelby for my friend Melinda. Her husband has just found out that he has Melanoma and it has now leaked into the lymph nodes under his arm. He will have surgery on Monday to see if it is cancerous. Please keep this family in your prayers. Lily Grace was very happy to have the kids stay with us. Garrett is her "boyfriend". They are in the same class at MDO and they love each other! It was very interesting to see how it would be with three small kids in the house. It was lots of fun though. Then Grandmommy and Aunt Kirsten came for an afternoon visit. It was great to see them during the week since usually we have to wait until the weekend. After they left we went to a dinner at Grandmamma and Granddaddy’s church. It was an early, delicious Thanksgiving meal. We love this time of the year!!!

Friday, Lily Grace and I baked all day long! We made 12 things to sale at our MDO Bake Sale on Saturday (which was a great success!!!). Thank you God for giving us such a wonderful baby! She sat in her exersaucer and played with big plastic spoons while I cooked. She is so sweet and we are so lucky.

There was only one little incident with her acting a little "bad". I was holding her on my hip and stirring my chocolate pie when she got upset with me for not paying her any attention. So she pinched my necked, grabbed my hair and grunted really loud. I told her "No, No". Then she did it again and again and once more. The final time I spatted her on the hand (really it was a little pat, not a spat) and said "No, No". She stopped!! She didn't do it again, which makes me think she knew better. I was wondering when do you start spanking, spatting, patting, etc. Mother told me that I would know when, well I guess this was the right time. Trust me, it hurt me worse than it hurt her!!!

Then we got ready for the James Family Reunion that night. So we have been very busy here lately but it always gets this way around this time of the year. I am sure it will be this way until Christmas but it is just a little different this year while having a little one around. It is going to be very exciting!!!

Thank you Grandmommy for my cute, warm hat!!!

Getting too BIG!

Lily Grace has never really liked her swing so we hardly ever use it. Tonight while I was cooking, I thought I would try sitting her in it again. Well, she is almost too big now! So I had to take a picture and look at the difference in her size from the first time she sat in it until now. Wow, look at the difference!! And guess what? She still doesn't like it!

Lunch with "Aunt" Crystal

Since both of our schools were closed today, "Aunt" Crystal and Mommy thought it would be a great time to catch lunch and spend some time together. We ate at Cypress Inn and it was very yummy! We did find out that Lily Grace is scared of loud flushing toilets. We went into the restroom and every time someone would flush, Lily G would scream!! But, we had a really great time and we can't wait to see her again. We love you "Aunt" Crystal!!

Sittin' in the Bath

Now that Lily Grace is sitting up so good, she doesn't want to lay back in the bathtub anymore. She still loves her bath cloth!!

Does she like fruit?

Sunday Lily Grace ate applesauce for the first time. She liked this much for than bananas. The first time we gave her bananas, she ate them okay. Now she turns her head and won't take them. She never turns down anything!! But it makes since because the entire time I was pregnant, I couldn't eat bananas because they made me so sick and I love bananas. She is eating the applesauce much better though. We will keep adding one fruit at a time but I think she still likes the veggies best.

We love Lil' B!!

We had the best time Saturday night going to Grandaddy and Grandmama James house. Pat, Brandi and the kids came down, too. Lily Grace enjoyed visiting with everyone. She is especially fond of Madilyn. It was also great to see Brennon for his birthday. He is 9 years old now, wow! Happy Birthday Brennon, we love you so much! Then there was sweet Lil' B, Baby Braiden. He is so precious. He has gotten so big! He is 5 weeks old and already weighs over 10 pounds!! I think he will pass Lily Grace. It was so good to spend some time with the James family because we miss them all so much!

Lily Grace loves her big cousin Madilyn!

Lily Grace visited with Stormy for the first time. She didn't really know what to think of him. Her facial expressions were priceless!

Mommy loves Lily Grace soooooo much! I don't think she wanted to take a picture here though!

Lily Grace loves her new baby cousin!

Aunt Peyton loves her sweet nephew and his hair!!

Sip Sip

Lily Grace is trying so hard to use a sippy cup but she just hasn't figured it out yet. She only chews on it instead of sucking it. But it makes a good toy! Also, today Lily Grace sat up by herself for a couple of minutes while playing with her toys. It won't be long and she will be sitting up all the time by herself. Just another milestone she is passing. It breaks my heart how fast she is growing.

6 Months Old

I remember when Lily Grace was in my belly and I would see 6 month old children at church. I would think, "It's gonna be a long time before this baby is out and 6 months old but that looks like a really fun age." Well, 6 months was here in a flash and yes it is tons of fun! Lily Grace has done lots of new things in the past month. She is rolling over great and moving around in circles on the floor but still not getting far. She has been amazed with her hands for months now but now she has learned to wave. It is the cutest thing! She waves hello and goodbye to everyone even to people in stores. It is so sweet. She is also reaching for you. When you put your hands out for her she will reach and about jump into your arms. It is a wonderful feeling when she shows you she wants you! Another sweet thing she does is when she gives you kisses. She will grab your face with both hands and pull you in and give you the biggest wet kiss ever! We love every kiss she will give us! She is trying very hard to sit up on her own, as you can see in the picture. She can sit up for about 30 seconds before falling over. She does get a little stronger everyday though. She is still sleeping great throughout the night, around 10 hours. She is eating a lot more now. She eats 6 oz. bottles 5 times a day, cereal in the morning, veggies and fruit for lunch and dinner. That does not include the little bites of food we give her that we are eating. She is our little food disposal. We are working on the sippy cup now but she hasn't figured it out yet. When she does, we will start juice. Her hair is starting to come in more and you can tell that it is going to be thick. She will laugh hysterical at me especially at night time. It is so funny! That is Marty and my favorite thing to do, make Lily Grace laugh! She loves to go shopping with the girls. Monday and Tuesday, Lily Grace and I went to spend the night with Grandmommy at the Winfrey and we shopped till we dropped trying to get things done for Christmas. And she is still baby talking all the time and is still very curious about everything. Yes, she reminds us of Grandmama Sally more and more with her personality. New things happen with our precious little girl everyday and we will continue to update as they come along.
Today, on Lily Grace's 6 month birthday, she did have to go to the doctor. She has had a nasty cold since Saturday, so I called to see if I should bring her in and they said definitely. They put her on Albuterol and we are hoping it will help because it could become serious. So say a little prayer for Lily Grace. Doctor Petitt said it should last another 5 or 6 days but she has high spirits and is happy as can be. I think it worries us more than her. I just can't stand to see my baby feeling bad. They did weigh her while we were there and she weighed 18 lbs! I knew she sure was feeling heavy. I struggle to carry her when she is in the car seat. Lily Grace is 6 months old and growing fast!

Lily Grace ate bananas for the first time!

Could I Be Any Cuter?

Roll Tide!!

Lily Grace's first time on the quad. It was the best weather Saturday to take her on the quad for the first time. She seemed to have a great time riding around in her stroller. We stopped by to see "Aunt" Ashley and "Aunt" Crystal. Lily Grace was so excited to see them.
Daddy, Mommy, and Lily Grace saying goodbye. Grandmommy took Lily Grace home with her so that we could go to the game.
Daddy and Mommy at the game
Marty's friend Gurley invited us up to the sky box for the fourth quarter. It was awesome!

Thank you so much Gurley!!
It was a very exciting game! Even though Alabama lost, we had a wonderful time!

Blue Eyes

Where do you think she got her blue eyes from?

Christmas Village

Last Friday, we had a crazy day with Grandmommy! We first went to Christmas Village and had the best time besides having to park for an hour and a half! But Lily Grace was such a little trooper! This picture was during lunch when she fell asleep while watching all the people go by. We then left for the flea market and then we ate dinner at the Bright Star. It was a very long day but Lily Grace was so good and we were excited to have Grandmommy spend the night with us.
