We're Going to the Zoo

This past Monday, I took my Mom's Day Out program to the Montgomery Zoo for a little field trip. We were so excited to have Daddy join us for Lily Grace's first trip to the zoo! I had a feeling Lily Grace was going to like the zoo but I had no idea how much she would LOVE it!!! She pointed at all the animals and said "ook, ook" all day long. She usually doesn't sit very long in her stroller, no longer than 15 minutes, except for this day. She sat in her stroller from 10 until 2!!! And I think she would have stayed a few more hours but Mommy and Daddy were tired! We had a wonderful time and the best part was watching Lily Grace's expressions when she saw a new animal. She didn't know what to think about it all! The weather was perfect because it had rained all day and the night before so it was cool and then the sun started shining about lunch time. It was an awesome day! All the parents took their own vehicles so we were able to do our own thing and spend some quality family time together. It was the nicest zoo either of us has ever been to and I would request anyone to take their families there! The museum was wonderful and there is even a train ride Lily Grace enjoyed but all you see are trees on it. It was a great trip and we can't wait to go back again this summer!

This was our first stop at the kangaroos. She thought they were so neat. She didn't want to take her eyes off of them. I was happy the zoo made the fences and windows the perfect height for babies in strollers to see.

Daddy and Lily Grace
Mommy and Lily Grace, aren't our matching tees cute??
"Ook, ook Mama!"
This elephant was hilarious. He rolled all in the dirt and then jumped in the water, rolling around. He stayed under for a while and one of the kids yelled, "He's stuck, he's going to drown!!" He was really putting on a show for all the kids.
Lily Grace laid back and fed herself a bottle while we went through the museum. We were all amazed at how big some of those animals really are!

She like the foxes.

She kept wanting to touch all the animals so she really liked this glass because there was a hole in it!!

She wanted to play with these Hogans!!

Your lunch came in these brightly colored hats. Of course, she only kept it on for this quick picture! She was eating animal crackers whole for the first time here.

We were about to leave and Daddy had to go back and take a picture with Lily Grace in front of the elephants.

We had a wonderful time at the Zoo!!

Crystal's Berry Tea

Last Sunday, Mother and I and some very sweet ladies gave Crystal a tea at the Berry Civic Center. It was very nice and Crystal got great gifts. Thank you to all the hostesses! You all helped so much and you are very much appreciated!

All the bridesmaids were able to make it to the tea!

Sailor Girl

Marty took these right before Crystal's tea at the Berry Civic Center last Sunday. (Yes, I am a week behind in updating this blog!) I thought they were too cute. She wouldn't keep the hat on though. Here lately she will hardly keep a bow in! She has finally figured out we are putting something in her hair. Courtney, we need to take some pictures of her and Lawson in their sailor outfits together!!!

James Creation

Mrs. Robin Clements gave this little T-shirt to Lily Grace and it is too cute!
I wish you could see it better in the picture but it says:
James Creation
Size Small
100% Joy
Made in Heaven
Then it says a few more cute things about handle with care. It is so sweet and I want to thank you Mrs. Robin for the cutest tee ever!!

Standing by herself here. She walked about 3 or 4 yards by herself Monday but then hasn't walked by herself too much since. She just doesn't want to let go. She is walking all over the house and getting into everything but still one finger has to be touching something!

Pushing the shopping cart. Look at that big smile! I think she will love shopping!!!
My sweet baby girl :)

New Things

Lily Grace is finally starting to hold her bottle more. She still would rather me hold it though. I hope that doesn't mean she is going to be a little lazy! It's so funny, she loves to lay back in the little baby seat at MDO. She was so relaxed here and I think it is time to put this shirt away!! Her tummy kept making the shirt roll up all day. It looks like she has a belly shirt on! I am now having to pull out all her 18 month clothes because she has outgrown the 12 months. She is getting too big, TOO QUICK!!

She was watching another child playing with this xylophone, and she picked it up and started playing it! She knew exactly where to hit the stick and how to push the buttons. It was too cute and so smart! She doesn't have one at home so maybe she will get one for her birthday!

And She Was Swingin'

Tuesday at Mom's Day Out, I took the babies outside to play. I put Lily Grace in the swing there for the first time and she loved it. She liked it so much more than the swing she was in last time! At one point I thought she was about to fall asleep because she was so relaxed. I am going to have to take her up there more often. It was so hot though, we could only stay out there for about 15 minutes before we got little suntans. I think summer time is almost here, YEA!!!!

Higher, Higher!!

I promise she is laughing here!!

Sticking that tongue out!

"Mykah, look over there!!" I think they really understood each other!

Lily Grace Loves Granddaddy

Lily Grace loves her Granddaddy and she loves to feel of his beard! She also loves feeling of Pop's beard. I guess she is going have a thing for beards! :)

We had a lot of fun Saturday night at Crystal and Riley's Meet and Greet Party. It was out at the river in Moundville. We have never been out there and it is very nice! They had lots of family and friends attend and they got a surprise gift from the hostesses, a luggage set for the honeymoon. We had a great time and we are looking forward to many more showers in the next couple of months! We love you guys!

A Goodbye Lunch

Today we went and met family to eat lunch before we left to head home. We were so sad to leave Berry but very excited to get home and see Daddy!!! We had a wonderful Spring Break with Grandmommy, Pop, Aunt KirKir, and Uncle Skyler and being able to see lots of family!

This is a new thing Lily Grace is doing. Every time you do it, she will mock you and do right back, grinning from ear to ear. Too cute!

We love Grandmommy!

Yea Grandmommy!!!

Today we had the joy of spending lunch with Houston, Maw Maw, Angie, Aunt Kirsten and Aunt Pat. Houston is so entertaining, Lily Grace didn't want to eat too much. But then Lily Grace ate ALL of Angie's cheese and potatoes and loved them. After lunch we all went to watch Grandmommy play softball in a Teacher's Softball Game. She played awesome!! She hit a home run and many other good hits, and got many people out. We were proud of Grandmommy and Lily Grace cheered and clapped for her every time the other kids clapped. It was a little sunny so Lily Grace had to use sunscreen for the first time. We love being outside so we had lots of fun!!!

Houston loves Lily Grace
Maw Maw and Lily Grace. I don't know why but she doesn't look too happy here.
GO Grandmommy!!! She played shortstop.
Lily Grace was more interested in her toys here.
Angie had to fill in for a teacher that wasn't there. She also played really good!
This is right before Grandmommy hit her home run! We love you!!!

Another Visit with Coleman

Tonight, I went to meet Marty for dinner and church in Tuscaloosa and left Lily Grace with Grandmommy and Pop so they could spend some time with her and take her to their church. She does so much better if I am not around so I thought it would be good for them and then Marty and I could get some alone time. It was nice to go out to eat together but I am so used to feeding her and eating my food so quickly, I was finished eating in a few minutes! I had to sit there and wait on Marty to finish for about 10 to 15 more minutes! It was so weird not having her with us at church and I missed her terribly! I don't know when I will be able to spend the night away from her because it hurts me too bad just being away for a few hours. I don't know which one of us is more attached!! Anyway, since I didn't get to hold Coleman James yesterday, I just had to stop by again to hold him!! He is so precious and they are all doing great. Coleman may have a heart murmur, so say a little pray for him. They should get the results soon and they will come home Thursday morning if everything looks good. Today, he still looks like Meg but he also looks a lot like Meg's daddy! I just couldn't get over it and even Marty couldn't believe it. I can't wait to see him and hold him again!

Yummy Pickles with My Friend

We are staying in Berry all this week for our little Spring Break vacation so today, Lily Grace and I got a real treat! We got to have lunch with Nikki and Tre. It was so great to spend time with them, but it just wasn't enough and we have to get together more!! We ordered pickles for the kids while we ate and they were just too cute eating them. We had our glasses in the middle of the table and they kept sucking on those pickles and peaking around the glasses at each other. They were so precious. I can't wait to get them together for a play date! We were also excited to see Scott Jr. and Aunt Cheryl and then Grandmommy even stopped by. We had a wonderful lunch!!

Monday, Joshua and Meg were blessed with a healthy little boy. He weighed 8 lbs. 8 oz. and was 21 inches long. He is just beautiful! He looks just like Meg! I was amazed at how much a child could look like a parent! It is only fair since Hal took so much after Josh! Lily Grace and I were able to stop by for a visit on the way to Grandmommy and Pop's house. Lily Grace wouldn't let me hold him but we got to stare for a long time. He is just precious and we are so happy for the Cottingham family!

Fun with the James Cousins

This week is Lily Grace's and my Spring Break, so Monday we got to spend the day with Madilyn and Brennon at Grandmama and Grandaddy James' house. We had so much fun!! Lily Grace really enjoyed herself. She loves her cousins and we wish we could see them lots more!

Lily Grace Loves to play with Madilyn. Madilyn is going to be a great babysitter!

You can kinda see the bruise on Lily Grace's cheek here. Sunday at church, she fell down and hit a metal chair. It bruised up her check instantly and the next day she had a swollen eye. She also has scratches all over her face from where she scratches herself through the night. She looks pretty beat up right now, poor thing!

Lily Grace loves to watch Hogan out the screen door and now she likes to watch the kitty at Grandmama's. She kept trying to grab it's tail through the door!

Just because it is cold doesn't mean we can't ride four wheelers!! We bundled all up and rode fora long time. Our faces were really cold after riding!

Aunt Peyton and Madilyn

Uncle Marty and Brennon

Later that night we got to see Uncle Pat, Aunt Brandi, and Braiden! He has grown so much! Lily Grace is giving him lovin' here. She loves baby Braiden.
We took at quick bath before we went home so she would be ready for bed.
