Cooper decided to come a little earlier than we had planned! We got to sleep around midnight Saturday night and then I was woken by a very bad contraction at 1:44 am. Then there was another in 15 minutes, then in 9 minutes, then 8, then 7, then 6 and we were loading up the car!! Lily Grace held my hand the whole way to the hospital and was such a big girl. My contractions we back to back and I hardly had any time when I wasn't having one. When we got to the hospital at 3:30 am, the nurses said there was no reason to check me, just go ahead and get me in a room because I definitely had "the look". Then she checked and I was 9 1/2 cm dilated!!!! They said I could still get my epidural if I wanted to and I said, "Yes!" The doctor got to me at 4:25 to give me the epidural and finally I felt MUCH better by 4:45! Then I started pushing shortly after that. Dr. Edwards delivered because my usual doctor couldn't be reached. Dr. Edwards was great though! He said it should take only about 30 minutes. It ended up taking longer because Cooper had his head turned a little to the side which was causing him to hang in there making to hard for me to push past that point. Finally the doctor got the forceps to just help turn his head a little. After he did that, I was able to push him right out on my own! He arrived at 6:10 am. The doctor said, "Wow, he is a big boy!" Cooper was just a screaming and then they handed him to me and he looked in my eyes and stopped crying instantly. It was the most wonderful feeling! They took him to clean him up and get his weight and length. He was a big boy! He weighed 9 pounds 4 ounces. He was 21 1/2 inches long. And a head full of black hair! He is just perfect. We are both doing great! Daddy is, too! We are just a bit tired and trying to catch up on some rest before we head home Tuesday morning. Lily Grace is going to be a great big sister! Instead of being jealous and crying as we thought she might do, she was crazy about him. She never wanted to move from his side. She would say how much she loved him and would just talk and talk about him. It was a great relief. We hope this will continue in the days to come. Please pray that it does!

Here are some pictures from Day One. I will try to post pictures each day because babies change so quickly.

Cooper's Date of Birth - October 11, 2009
About to start pushing!
Almost time! I'm looking just a little tired.
And he is here!
6:10 AM

Look at that big boy! How precious!

Of course Marty was a nut during the whole delivery process having all the nurses and even doctor cracking up but it helped pass the time. You've gotta love him! :) Mother was also in the room with us! They were both great to have in the room. Lily Grace waited in the waiting room with Pop, Granddaddy and Grandmama.

Dr. Edwards

He definitely has Marty's feet!! I know it sounds crazy but his big toe is exactly the same as Marty's! Marty says Cooper has "monkey toes" and will be climbing trees soon :)

Mommy and Daddy of two now :)

Look at the "muscle man"!!!

My nurse was wonderful - Wendy. We have been so lucky to have the best nurses our whole stay so far. What a great group they have at Northport!

The big sister looking at her new baby brother. We are going to have to keep our eyes on her because she keeps wanting to share things with him like suckers!! And she wants him to get in the floor and play with her.

Lily Grace was so tired, she finally gave it up and fell asleep in Daddy's arms.

I went for my 38 week check up this afternoon. The date has been moved up! We will now go in next Monday, October 12th instead!! (Unless he comes before.) Everything looked good, baby's heartbeat 148-155 and I was now 4 cm dilated. He asked if I could come in tomorrow and have him. But then I think he saw the shock and little bit of fear in my eyes (that is a big decision to make that quick when your husband is not with you!!!!), so he said let's just do it Monday. I felt much better with that! He said there is no way I will make it to Wednesday and there is a chance he could come before Monday. But no matter what, we will be holding our little man in four days!! Please continue to pray that everything goes well with delivery and we have a healthy baby boy. Come meet Cooper soon! We love you all!

Day with the Girls

The four generations of girls (Maw Maw, Grandmommy, Mommy, and Lily Grace) went shopping all day Saturday while the guys stayed home grilling out and watching football. We had lunch at Cypress Inn and it actually has been a while since we have eaten there but when we drove up Lily Grace said, "I want to see the fish!!!" I couldn't believe she remember just by the looking at the outside of the building! She has gotten so good about when we drive up to places, she knows what they are. She loves Cypress Inn just because the huge aquarium of fish. She gets so excited because she thinks they are looking right at her and squeals really loud. That is why Maw Maw is shhhhhing her. It was a long day with lots of walking. I thought I might go into labor after that but no such luck. He is still hanging in there! We had lots of fun spending the day together though!

Our Little Cheerleader

This past Friday night was Berry's Homecoming and Lily Grace got to be a mascot for one of the Berry Varsity Cheerleaders. Some of us were really worried she wouldn't even go out of the field but she did great!!! She stayed out there the whole time, cheered, did a jump when they called her name over the intercom, and even went to the victory line with the cheerleaders and cheered the whole time. We were so proud of her. She didn't want to come off the field. It was a lot of fun watching her. Here are some pictures from the night.

Getting ready for the game
We decided on the skirt :) Doesn't she look cute?
Lily Grace loves the Wildcat this year. That is the first thing she wants to do when we go to the games. Last year she was really freaked out by him but this year she even let him hold her for a little while!!! This is Taylor, Lily Grace's cheerleader she cheered with.
Pop and Lily Grace
Houston was the Wildcat's mascot.
She liked grabbing the Wildcats tail. When they went to the victory line she chased the Wildcat's tail for longest time. It was too funny.
Waving to the crowd
She liked the pom-poms
Doing her jump when they called her name out.
Go Cats!! Here she is on the victory line. She did so good cheering with the cheerleaders.
Dancing to the band
Lily Grace must get her chips and cheese. Even though, she doesn't eat a whole lot of the chips :)
