Happy St. Patrick's Day

Happy St. Patrick's Day Everyone!!
Check out her upper lip. She has had little boo-boos before but I think this is her first serious one. She thinks she is so big and can walk by herself (which she can't yet). She let go of the chair and dove forward into another piece of furniture leaving a cut lip and a bruise in the middle of her forehead. She only cried for a few seconds but it still looks bad. Today she actually started taking steps!! Tonight at 6:35 she walked by herself to me for the first time!! She is cruising more and more everyday around the house holding onto things. Before long we are going to have a walking little girl!!

She had another busy day at MDO with NO NAP!!! Marty came to pick her up from me while I was getting my hair done. When I got home this is how I found her, conked out in Daddy's lap!

Messy Lunch

Wednesday night we spent the night with Grandmommy and Pop. Thursday we got to meet Grandmommy, Maw Maw, Angie, and Houston for lunch. Houston loves Lily Grace so much and she loves him, too. He just had to pull a chair up to sit beside her! By the end of lunch, our table and floor was very messy!!! It was great to spend time with our family, wish we could do it more!

Wednesday at MDO

Wednesday at MDO was a crazy and very tiring day. I was one teacher short so one other teacher and I had 6 babies. I love all the kids so much but let me just say there are a few that aren't always well behaved!! Lily Grace luckily was wonderful!! She didn't mind me holding other babies and she had a great day! She didn't even take a nap and was still good! GOD definitely helped us out that day. Anyway, Lily Grace loves watching Happy Feet. (If you have not watched this movie, you must!! It is the cutest movie! Even if you don't have kids!) She watches it a lot when we are in the car driving to Berry. So to help us out Wednesday, I went out to the car to get the DVD player with Happy Feet and Lily Grace sat in the crib watching the movie for a little while. I didn't think she would really do this but she was very happy! She loves the movie so much she will laugh at certain parts and never take her eyes off the screen. She still hasn't made it past the first 45 minutes but I don't think she minds!

This is another little girl in her class, Mykah. She is one month older than Lily Grace. They don't always get along very well. I think they might be a little jealous of one another. I don't know??

Mykah was trying to get Lily Grace here.

Lily Grace was not very happy about it! HA! What a face!!

Like I mentioned before, she didn't take a nap the whole day at MDO. When we got home, Marty was changing her clothes while I was packing to head to Berry. She fell asleep while he was dressing her!!! This was a first for us! Excuse my UNmade bed!! We were running late that morning!

Last Sunday

These are just some pictures from last Sunday at Pop and Grandmommy's house. We got down a few of my stuffed animals from when I was a little girl. Lily Grace loved them so much! Pop kept giving the balloon static and making it stick to Lily Grace. She did not like this very much! It was so funny her trying to catch it and she just couldn't figure out how to get it off!!

10 Months Old Today!

Lily Grace turned 10 months today. It is hard to believe in a few months my baby will be one year old! Lily Grace at 10 months is a lot of fun but very tiring! She is still not crawling but wiggling around a lot more on the floor. She is still getting very close to walking by holding onto furniture, walls, doors, or whatever she can grab hold of. It will be very soon when she will be getting around where she wants. She has gotten to the point where she wants things and we can't always figure out what she wants. She also doesn't want to be held much anymore. She would rather be standing by herself but we have to stay behind her just in case she falls back. Lily Grace is tiring now and I know that it is going to get a lot more tiring the older she gets. But it sure is lots of fun!!

She talks more and more everyday. She has said a few new words in the past month. She says "elwo" (Hello) and will hold the telephone up to her ear. It is too cute!! She will say "welwo" (Yellow) sometimes when she hears her toy say it. When we start to go outside she will say "Hogan, Hogan, Hogan" over and over pointing at him. It doesn't sound very clear but it has the 'Ho' and the 'Ga' in it. We know what she is talking about! She also will point to what she wants you to look at and says "ook, ook" (look, look). She also says "uh-oh". And when she wants to go to another room, outside, or where ever she will point in that way and say "Go, Go, Go". Of course she still says MaMa and DaDa and a whole bunch of other gibberish. She will talk your ears off! We have a little Grandmama Sally!!

She still LOVES books. And we have a very smart girl. If you give her a book upside down she knows to turn it the right way. At first I thought this was a fluke but nope, she does it with every book you hand her upside down! It is amazing!! The teacher in me is so excited that she loves books! I hope this continues as well!

She is still waving hello and goodbye at everyone she sees, especially in Wal-Mart. I hope she never stops doing this because it is the sweetest thing. She has been waving for months so maybe she will continue to do it.

We are teaching her about sharing, so when we ask her for her passy she will take it out of her mouth and hand it to us. But she usually wants it instantly back!

She LOVES light switches! Every light switch we pass by, she has to flip it. We were in the doctor's office the other day and she kept turning the lights on and off down the entire hallway.

She has started dropping things just for us to pick them up. This game gets very old, QUICK! She has been doing this some in the past months but now I think she know what she is doing because she drops things all the time just to watch me pick up and then laughs about it! And if I scream, she will scream back and this can go on for a while, too! She loves to mock you.

The past ten months have been wonderful, exciting, an adventure, and the best 10 months of our lives. We have loved every second of it and look forward to many more. She is our joy!

Lily Grace watching T.V. with her new horsey Grandmommy got her to ride on

We love the Cannon Boys

After the party we came back to Grandmommy and Pop's to see the sweet Cannon boys. Lily Grace lights up every time she sees them. She loves playing with Levi and Houston and loves getting kisses from them, too!

Happy Birthday Hudson!!

Today we went to celebrate Hudson's 3rd Birthday with Family and Friends. It was a great birthday party and we had a wonderful time visiting with everyone. The party was at Aunt Wanda's house because the cement drive was not poured at Holley's new house yet. After the party we got to go see the new house and it was so beautiful!! We are so happy for Rodney, Holley and Hudson! We love y'all and we hope you had a very happy birthday Hudson!! Hudson is 3!!!
Lily Grace had so much fun with the girls! It was great to see them. We don't get to see them enough! Lily Grace thought McKenzie, Madelyn, and Cate were just wonderful!
We were so happy Olivia Clark was at the party. They were giving each other love! Aren't they precious? Olivia is so sweet and loves to give hugs!
Lily Grace loves birthday cake!

Lily Grace got to experience her first real snow this morning at Grandmommy and Pop's house!! I am so glad we did not miss the snow this time because we did not get any at our house in Brent. Uncle Skyler built her a cute little snowman! She didn't know really what to think but I think she was just very cold!! Look at those chubby, rosy cheeks!

Lily Grace loves her Uncle Skyler!

Saturday Morning Doctor Visit

Thursday Lily Grace started getting a little diaper rash. It kept getting more and more red. Last night she had open sores on her bottom. So I called the on call nurse and she said we needed to bring her in to have a look at them. We have been giving her baking soda baths and putting lots of Triple Paste (the best stuff!!) on her bottom. The doctor gave her a prescription cream that we hope will help even better. They think it might have been caused by acid in her poppy from cutting teeth. Poor thing!

Look at my BIG girl sitting in a big girl chair!! She is growing too fast!

Mommy LOVES Lily Grace soooo much!!

Look, they have the same stance! HA!

Update: We will be going to Children's Hospital on April 29th for more tests dealing with her seizures. That is a long ways away so please pray that Lily Grace does not have another seizure before then. If she does pray everything will go well and Marty and I will have the right mind to video her. Thank you all and we love you!!

Results Are In

I know you are all wanting to know what is going on with Lily Grace and her results. According to the test taken yesterday, everything looked normal. The actual test only recorded about 30 minutes of her brainwave activity. During this time, there was nothing abnormal shown. This is great but it doesn't let us know anything so that means more tests. Her doctor called us this afternoon to let us know all this. He is thinking we might need to do a home test where she will wear a type of hat and have to carry a little pouch around for 48 hours. This way they will see more brainwave activity over a longer stretch of time. He is sending us to Children's Hospital for the new tests. He hasn't set the appointment yet but he did say it sometimes takes 4-6 weeks to get an appointment there. If she has more seizures in the next week or two, they might work her in earlier. Also, her doctor wants us to video her next seizure. I hope we will have enough right mind to be able to do this. Thank you all for your thoughts and prayers. I will continue to keep you updated on any news we receive regarding this situation. We love you all!!

Today's Update

We went this morning for Lily Grace's test and we were unable to find anything out at this time. They said it would be at least 24 hours before we find anything out. The test took place at Northport in the Sleep Center. We had to wait for a little while before being called back. When it was our time to go back, the nurse informed me I could not go back with Lily Grace. This broke my heart because she said it would take about an hour and a half and they would need her to fall asleep. I did not think she would do well with this but I did know she would probably act a little better if I was not in there. We all know how attached she is to me. I still have no idea what all happened in there but all the nurse told me was luckily Wonder Pets was on Nick Jr. so Lily Grace laid there and watched her favorite show while the nurse swaddled her up tight with a sheet to keep her legs and arms down. The nurse said she just laid there and fell asleep just like she was supposed to. She said she was the best baby she had ever had, she didn't even cry!! She said normally the babies cry a whole lot. The only other thing the nurse said was she would be drawing on her head with a type of crayon. I didn't know if this meant literally or what it meant. All I know is she came back to the room was sticky stuff in her hair and her hair was sticking straight up!

We left the hospital and went out for lunch with Grandmommy and then headed back home. She has been very hyper and fussy all afternoon but is finally down for a nap. She kept fighting going to sleep. She went to sleep on her own in my lap and has been down for about two hours. I am going to have to go wake her up or she isn't going to want to sleep tonight! Keep us in your prayers and I will keep you all updated as soon as we find something out tomorrow. Thank you for all of you thinking about us and checking on us! We love you all! Everyone please be careful and watch out for the weather tonight!!

She was not in the best mood to take a picture this afternoon!

Great Grans Visit

One good thing about going to Berry every Sunday afternoon besides spending time with Pop, Grandmommy, and Uncle Skyler and eating a big yummy meal, we get to see Great Grandparents! Lily Grace loves seeing them!

Sunday Afternoon Walk

Yesterday afternoon was so warm and sunny so we all went for a little walk to the pond. It was so nice not being stuck in a house for once! We are so ready for warm weather so we can go for walks and play outside every day!

Cottontail's Village

Saturday Grandmommy, MawMaw, Lily Grace and I went to Cottontail's Village. We really needed to get out the house for a little while and this was perfect! Spending time with people we love and shopping!! This was the first time I have even heard of Cottontails and I was a little upset no one had told me about it before because I never miss a Christmas Village. Now I have two huge shopping villages to attend a year! Lily Grace was very sleepy but so good! She loves to shop and we had a great day together.

Lily Grace liked watching the big fountain outside of the BJCC.

We even ran into Aunt Brandi, Madilyn and Baby Braiden there. It was so good to see them because we miss them soooo much!!

Lily Grace Needs Your Prayers

I haven't blogged with an update about Lily Grace's seizure. Since she had her seizure, she has had 4 or 5 "dazing out" spells. I talked to her doctor about it and he said that if she had another we might have to do some tests. Well, this afternoon she had another spell. This one was a bit longer and scarier. I laid her down to change her diaper and she started staring at the ceiling fan. I didn't think anything until I stood her up to pull her pants up. Her body was limp and she was still staring off into space. We went outside to see Hogan and she was sort of aware of him but she just couldn't ever catch him with her eyes. She was very slow at looking at things and was still limp. She could hardly hold her head up. Then she began slobbering. This all lasted for about ten minutes. Dazing out like this is a type of seizure and you know that I am scared to death! I called her doctor and he made an appointment for her at DCH in Northport for an EEG or Brainwave test. It will be Monday morning at 9:00. I am happy we are doing this because it will help us to feel better to know if anything is wrong. I pray there is nothing wrong, but at least we will know. Please keep her in your prayers during this time.

Her cold is still a little yucky. She coughs so bad at some points that she gags. Last night when I gave her the medicine for the cough, she gagged and threw up. I have never seen a child throw up that much! It was just awful but it didn't seem to bother her a bit. She went straight back to playing. Just be thinking about us! I love you all and I hope you all have a blessed weekend!!

9 Month Check-Up

Today I took Lily Grace to the doctor for her check-up. She weighed 22 lbs, 10 oz. She was 29 inches long. No wonder she is killing my back, she is so big!! Everything looked good. I was worried about her not crawling yet, but the doctor said she was what they call "advanced". She has skipped about three steps and has gone straight to walking around while holding onto things. This made me feel a lot better about the situation. She does have a little head cold but he said there wasn't anything to worry about with that.
Now, if you see Lily Grace a good bit, you know about her eczema. She has always had it and some days it will be almost cleared up and then other days, it will be extremely bad. Here lately, it has been awful. It is especially bad on her hands and wrists. She has figured out how to scratch it and this causes it to bleed. It looks so painful for her. When I put the ointment on her hands, she rubs it all off and gets it in her eyes. This worried me so I wouldn't put it on her hands anymore. So the doctor told me a type of wrap to get to put over the ointment on her hands. I hope this helps!!
After the appointment, we headed to Tokyo for lunch with Aunt KirKir. It was great to see her! Then we headed home to get Daddy and then came back to Tuscaloosa to meet Grandmommy for some shopping and dinner at Moe's. Thank you for dinner Grandmommy and we love seeing you! We miss you everyday we can't see you! We did some more shopping and then off to church. Lily Grace is still loving her class at church. This is the only place she doesn't cry when I drop her off. This also gives me a little break!

Lily Grace got her toe pricked. She didn't cry but looked at the nurse like she was crazy! She didn't know what to think about the band-aid on her toe. She did cry a lot when the doctor came in. She has now figured the doctor's office out. Every time he touched her, she screamed and screamed. He cleaned out her ears the last time we were there and I think she remembers that. As soon as he left she was fine, then it was time for the shot. Here comes the crying again, but this time it only lasted for a split second.

She kept trying to eat the band-aid off! I wish I was that flexible! Ha!Thank goodness for the TV in the rooms! This helps me entertain her for that hour.

And thank goodness for books. She loves to look at books! She now does the cutest thing when you hand her a book. If you hand it to her upside down, she knows to turn it the right way!!
How smart is she!?!
Here are the bandages we put on her hands. She kept them on for about ten minutes and then finally figured out how to take them off. At least by then, the ointment had already went into the skin. I think this might actually work! Yea!!

Tie-Dyed T's

Aunt KirKir made Lily Grace and me matching tie-dyed t-shirts.
Aren't they cute?
We wore them to MDO today and got lots of compliments Kirsten!
Thank you so much Aunt KirKir and we love you so much!!!
We can't wait to see you tomorrow night!

Baby Beth is Here!!

While we were all eating at Outback for MawMaw's birthday, Elizabeth arrived! She is Luke and Mary Kathrine's new baby girl and Ben's new baby sister. She is so precious!! She weighed 8 lbs. and was 19 3/4 inches long. When we got to the hospital, she was in the "warmer", so we could only go in one at a time to see her. In the bottom picture you can see everyone looking in at me visiting Baby Beth. Lily Grace was so excited looking in at her. She was banging on the window. We can't wait to hold her and play with her!!

Happy Birthday MawMaw!!

Last night, we went out to eat at Outback to celebrate MawMaw's birthday. We had a wonderful time but wish the entire family could have been there. The rest of them were waiting at the hospital for Baby Beth to come! Happy Birthday MawMaw! We love you soooo much!
