Football Season is Here!

We are headed to Berry for the long weekend as soon as Marty gets off of work. We are going to watch Skyler play football! We love football season and are very excited it is officially here. So all we have to say as we start this weekend... Marty says, "Roll Tide!" and Peyton says, "War Eagle!" and Lily Grace may be a little confused!

Bath Time

We are still loving bath time. Now that she is grabbing things it makes it even more fun. Last night she couldn't decide what she wanted to hold. She did want that wash cloth though. She kept taking it from me and sucking on it. She really liked it, so from now on if she is fussy we might try giving her a wet wash cloth!

One other thing about yesterday, Lily Grace is laying down for naps now. Usually I just have to hold her while she sleeps but at Mom's Day Out, they laid her down for a nap and ever since then I have been doing the same. It is great! The naps don't last too long, thirty minutes or so, but at least I can get some more things done around the house.

Don't Cry Over Spilt Milk

I just want to take a minute to say that I have the most wonderful husband! Not to mention, he is the best Daddy, too! Last night I guess I was just really tired and I spilt a bottle of milk when I was trying to warm it up for Lily Grace. My milk is very precious right now because I am not producing as much anymore. Well, I got really upset but Marty was there to cheer me up. He will get Lily G to do something really cute and she'll give me that beautiful smile and then everything is okay. He does so much and I thank God every chance I get for bringing us together. I don't show him nearly enough appreciation he deserves. So I just wanted to say thank you Marty for everything and I love you very much!

Our First Day to 'MDO'

Today was our first day to my new job at Mom's Day Out. We both LOVE it! I think that the job is going to be perfect for me. I have a great staff working for me and the kids are adorable. It's not going to be an easy job but thank goodness I have a mother who is a wonderful principal to guide me along the way. I felt like I was on an emotional roller coaster today though because I was so excited about work but missing Lily Grace so much. I fought back tears all day long. She was so happy though because she has the sweetest teachers. She ate up all their attention. Once she got fussy but I went and held her and it was all better. Then for the rest of the day I would check in on her to get some lovin'. That is the great thing about this job, I can see her anytime of the day I want. It is such a blessing! Then tonight at church I left her in her class without me so we could go to the new marriage class they just started. She was so good for them. So today I have spent way too much time away from her so I'm sitting here holding her while she is sleeping not wanting to put her down!

What a Beautiful Day!

Today was a beautiful day outside so we went out a good bit to enjoy it. Lily Grace loves it outside and I think if it were up to her we would stay out all day long. I don't know what we will do this winter when it gets too cold for outside! But today wasn't near as hot as it has been and in the shade it was very nice. We thank God for blessing us with such a great day. Hogan really enjoyed our company, too. This past weekend we got a smaller stroller for quick trips and for us to walk outside with instead of using that huge stroller that you sit the car seat down in. Don't get me wrong, that is a great stroller but this one is just a little easier! She loved it! In fact, she sat in it for a while inside the house letting me get some things done.

Something else we got was a pacifier catcher. Um, why haven't we already been using this? It has been great not having to bend down and keep picking up that passy! I think Lily G thinks it is funny but now she is getting pretty good at getting it and putting it back in her mouth on her own. We believe she is going to be a mess when she gets bigger!

We have a big day tomorrow. We start Mom's Day Out. Wish us luck!

We're Reaching and Grabbing!

It was amazing how all of a sudden Lily Grace started reaching and grabbing for things! She has been holding things when we put them in her hands for a little over a month now but in the past two weeks she has started getting things on her own. Everyday she is getting better and better at it. It started with her holding on to her bibs and dresses then putting them in her mouth. Now she grabs the mail right out of my hand when I'm reading it, she grabs my hair, nose, lips, the remote or anything else I am holding when she is sitting in my lap. And guess where it all goes? Straight to her mouth!! Now she really loves her play gyms because she can grab those hanging down toys! Sometimes it even looks like she reaches for me! And she is holding her bottle for longer times now. Yesterday when I was getting my hair cut, Marty had her and he was hanging up some clothes. He said every time he would hang a shirt on the rod and turn around, she would grab it and pull it down! I would have loved to see that! It's crazy how she does new things everyday that passes.

With putting everything in her mouth, I think she has to be teething. It has been going on for about a month but now it is beginning to bother her. She chews on anything she can get and loves for you to rub her gums. The diapers are getting worse, too. This past weekend I got her some baby tooth (or gum) paste and she loves it!! We do it every morning and night now. I just hate for her poor little gums to hurt. And I was told it could be many months before a tooth actually came through! Wow, that is a long time to be teething. Pray for us!

A New Job

I have gotten a new job that I am thrilled about! I am the new director of a program called "Mom's Day Out". It is only two days a week and the best thing about the job is I get to take Lily Grace with me! I am so blessed to be given this opportunity. I believe this will be great for both Lily Grace and myself. We will be able to get out of the house more, I will be able to spend time with kids because I have missed them so much in the schools, and Lily Grace will get used to being around more people. I will not be teaching but will have many responsibilities as the director. I went today to meet my teachers and they were all so nice. The children were precious. I am really looking forward to starting Wednesday!

One Crazy Weekend

We had one crazy, busy weekend! Friday night we went to Skyler's football practice under the lights. He did great! Of course, he is only in the 9th grade so he is 2nd string for now. But he played awesome! We were so proud of him. We had a good time but missed Grandmommy and Aunt KirKir. Kirsten was put in the hospital that night because her potassium levels were dangerously low. She feels better now but keep her in your prayers.

Saturday morning we went to Houston's birthday party. It was so good to see all the family. He is 3 years old and too cute! He just ate his cupcake with blue icing as you can see!

Here is Lily G with little cousin Ben with Granddaddy and Uncle Bubba

Mommy and "Aunt" K K

Saturday night the Great Grandparents kept Lily Grace for a while until Grandmommy came home to keep her. We went to the Jake Owens, Brooks and Dunn and Alan Jackson concert with our friends Andy and Becky. We had a blast with them and the concert was wonderful. It drizzled for a little bit at the beginning but it was a good thing because it was pretty cool the rest of the night. One funny thing I will share is Marty caught a t-shirt for me and he knocked an old woman down to get it! He promised he would catch one if it came close to him and he sure did! It was really late getting in and we missed Lily G so much but we did have a really fun time. Thank you to my family for keeping the baby!

Sleeping in the Crib

Last night was the first time Lily Grace ever slept in her crib. The only reason why we put her in there was because we weren't ready for bed since we were packing for Berry. So we wouldn't disturb her, we laid her down in her room. I think she was sleeping great in there but I was too worried about those bumpers! They seem so big and I kept thinking what if she moved over beside one and smothered! So a little after midnight I just couldn't stand it anymore! I went to get her to put her in the pack-n-play in our room. I guess I will have to get some different bumpers. I know she can't sleep without them. So, I will take any advice that you have on the bumper situation. Do they look too big to you? Has any of you had bumpers this big? I would really like to move her in her room but wondering what we should do. Wow, doesn't she look so little in that big crib?

Our Girly Girl

Today I had a doctor's appointment in Tuscaloosa so MawMaw met me to help out with Lily Grace. Monday I took her alone to my other doctor's appointment and we did great just the two of us but since this was a new doctor today I thought I might need a little help. Afterwards the three of us shopped until we dropped! We had so much fun and Lily Grace was the best baby ever! She is definitely a girly girl because she is always so good when we shop. I think she really enjoys it. Boy will we have fun when she gets older! Thank you MawMaw for going with us!

We are off to Berry for another weekend! This one will be a lot busier than usual. Can't wait until we get back to let you know everything that goes on! Have a great weekend!!

Sittin' Pretty

Lily Grace is sitting in the seats during class at church now! (Of course with blankets propping her up!) Last Wednesday night was her first time but I forgot my camera so this week I made sure I had it! Both times she sat through the entire 30 minutes! She just sits there staring at everyone, taking it all in. I think she is still trying to get used to what is going on because she doesn't smile too much which if you know Lily G, you know that is unusual! I guess now I can leave her in the class which makes me very sad. She is growing up too fast.

Bumbo is Great!

Well, we finally got the Bumbo out of it's box Tuesday night and why didn't we do this earlier?! Lily Grace loved it! She thought she was such a big girl. It really comes in handy. She will even sit in it and watch us eat, yea!! Everyday her head is getting stronger and stronger and I think this seat will really help even more. Every baby should have one of these seats!

Since we were trying out seats, we decided to try the EuroRider again. We did better this time than before but it was still a little weird for us. We just have to get used to it.

Great Grans!

Sunday afternoon we paid a liitle visit to MawMaw and Granddaddy. Lily Grace seems to just light up when she sees them. She really loves her Great
Grandparents!!

Dan and Krisha

Saturday night we went to Dan and Krisha's engagement party. We had a great time! They are the cutest couple! Krisha made us all name tags at the party and she even made Lily Grace one. It was too cute but she started eating it shortly after we put it on, so the name tag had to go! When Pop and Grandmommy got there Lily Grace was so funny. She got so excited when she saw them, smiling really big and kicking her legs and arms. She has really learned who they are. The party was fun and we were so glad to meet Krisha's family. They were all so nice. I'm so happy that Krisha and Dan found each other! We are looking forward to the big day in April!

We love you Grandmommy! Lane and Lily Grace

Laugh Out Loud

Lily Grace just laughed out loud for the first time, it was so cute!! She laughs all the time but usually no sound comes out or she just squeals but this time she actually giggled. It was so funny and I was laughing so hard at her I was crying. All I was doing was packing her clothes to go to Berry but something I did must have been funny to her. I screamed for Marty to come hear her but I guess I scared her so she stopped. Now she won't do it again so he thinks I made it up! I figure that she will start doing it a lot more now as soon as she really figures it out like the squealing thing. It was so precious, I just thought I would share!

Aunt KirKir Moving Out

Today Lily Grace and I went to Tuscaloosa for the day to help Aunt KirKir move into her dorm room at the University of Alabama. We had a really great time spending the day with her and Grandmommy and MawMaw. Lily Grace was wonderful! She was in the best mood all day long, even though we were wagging her around all over town. She is such a good baby! It was such a long day and VERY hot! We were extremely tired. Kirsten's room is very cute but she isn't too happy about the small size. Their theme is polka dots, as you can see in the pictures. I think she will have a blast living there. I can't believe she is starting college next Wednesday! She really is growing up! We are happy she is in Tuscaloosa now because she will be attending church with us which means we get to see her even more! YEA! Aunt KirKir, we love you tons and hope you love living in the dorms at Alabama.

Aunt KirKir and Lily Grace. Lily Grace loved all the bright colors!

By the way, today was the baby weight check-up day at the hospital so we ran over there to see how big Lily Grace is getting. She weighed 13 lbs. and 3 oz. She has gained more than enough since her last visit so we are thrilled to know that she is getting fed plenty!

The 3 Month Photo Sitting

Today Aunt KirKir and I took Lily Grace to Karen's Photography for her 3 month pictures. Wow, what an experience. Mrs. Karen was so wonderful to be so patient with us. I had to wake her up this morning to get ready so I don't think she got all the sleep she wanted. So while taking the pictures we had to take a break for a little nap. After she woke up, we got a few more shots before she got hungry. We still didn't get to use one outfit that we really wanted to use so we went home for a little bit and came back to finish up. For the most part, she was pretty good but she is so much happier while we are here at home. I can't wait to see the proofs and I will share with you all as soon as they come in. My fingers are crossed that we got some good pictures! Hopefully the 6 month sitting will be a little better.

Our Weekend

Say Cheese!!

Lily Grace's first time in the bottom part of her bathtub. She really enjoyed it. I think she thought she was big! She got way too long for the top part so we had to take it away. She is growing up too fast! Before long she will be sitting up on her on. This past week she even went up in the next size of diapers (size 2)!! I can't stand how fast time flies.

While I was packing for us to go to Berry, Marty was playing with Lily Grace. I came into the room and there was Lily Grace on her Daddy's shoulders. I couldn't believe it and had to get a quick picture. I don't know how much she really liked it but aren't they cute?!

This was so funny! I laid Lily Grace down for bed (with passy in mouth) and later when I came back to check on her she had spit the passy out and it landed this way. I thought it was too cute and had to share the picture.

Our little Lily Pad in her cute froggy dress.

This past weekend we went to spend some time in Berry. We had a really great time with the family. Friday we met the family on our way in at the Mexican restaurant in Fayette. Yummy! Saturday night Marty and I got to go out on a date! We had a wonderful time just the two of us. But we sure did miss our sweet Lily Grace. We went to an early movie and to eat at Wings, yummy again! While we were eating, there were so many little babies surrounding us making us miss our baby even more. It was great for us to get out by ourselves for a little while though. Thanks Grandmommy for keeping Lily G!! We know that y'all had fun! She even got to spend some time with Granddaddy and MawMaw while we were gone. Sunday Lily Grace was fussy most of the day. I think church is going to take some getting used for her. She loves going to class with all the other little ones, singing, and visiting with everyone after church but the sermon is a different story. I have not been able to sit through an entire sermon for a while now. She only wants to be held with us standing up. So for now, we are staying in the "Training Room" in the back of church until she gets better. Sunday afternoon Grandmommy and Pop cooked another great lunch and we got to take another little nap, yea!! It was a good weekend and as always we are looking forward to the next.

Happy 3 Months!!

We cannot believe it has already been 3 months! Wow how it has flown by! We have not posted anything in so long, there is tons to catch up on and lots of pictures to see. Lily Grace has done so many new things in the past two weeks that we are really excited about. Let's start with last week. On Tuesday she took out her passy and put it back in on her own, twice! She had been trying for days but we would always have to give it a little push back in for her. It was very exciting moments! Then on Wednesday night at church, the teacher gives all the little kids a mirror for one of the songs and Lily G held it on her own for the whole song, also exciting. On Thursday, I finally put her on her stomach for a little bit and she tried so hard to roll over. She would get really close but just couldn't push herself all the way over. It is really our fault because we never put her on her stomach like we are supposed to. She hates it so bad though, she will just scream and scream until we turn her over. If we would start doing it more often I really think she will turn over soon. On Friday we went shopping with Grandmommy and MawMaw and she was super good. I think she is going to fit in well with us women in the family because she seems to enjoy shopping. I think it might be because of the riding and all the colors but it sure does make her happy. See the pictures to see other things we have been doing.

Well, that brings us to today. She is getting so big! You should see the drawer full of clothes she has already grown out of. This is very sad for me. And I can't tell if she is losing more hair or getting more hair. She finally has a hair line in the front again and the hair right on top looks longer but then again she looks bald. I noticed the other day that where she sleeps there was a bunch of little hairs on the sheet. So I guess it is falling out. Many people have told me that babies that are bald will eventually have very thick hair. I do know that it is red when the sunlight shines on it and very curly when it is wet. I would love for her to wear a bow soon though! And I don't know if you can tell in the pictures but she has beautiful blue eyes! She is starting to try and grab things now. She has a little counting frog named Lily that she grabbed and I promise looked like she hugged!! She is becoming aware of her toys more and I know before long will be grabbing them all. She is still squealing very loudly and talking to us more and more. She kicks and squirms all the time wanting to move around. Most importantly, she is healthy and such a happy little girl. For some reason the past few days Lily Grace has been fussing with me when I nurse her during the midday time feedings, so I started feeding her with bottles at those times. Well today she held the bottle on her own for a whole 5 seconds or so!! Now, I know that all these things that we think are so exciting are probably not so exciting for all of you but these are little milestones that our baby is reaching and we are so happy about each and every one of them! I am so lucky to be able to stay at home with her for a year. It is the best job in the world and I wouldn't want to be doing anything else. I thank God everyday for giving me the opportunity to do this and blessing us with such a wonderful joy. She makes us so happy and I can't believe how much I can love someone. I just love her so much it hurts. Now I know what my Mother was meaning when she said that all these years.

Some other things that are going on... We are so happy for the engagements, our cousin Dan Deavours is marrying Krisha Gilliam this upcoming April. She is a great addition to the family, she is beautiful and super sweet (and great at aggravating Marty)! Also, my best friend since kindergarten, Crystal Earnest is marrying Riley Hollyhand in June. I will be the Matron of Honor in the wedding. We are so happy and love both couples so much. Marriage is wonderful!! Some more news, Michael and Julie Crocker, our cousins out in Houston, just found out they are having a baby girl due on December 25th. There's nothing like a little girl, it's a blessing! We will have so many new little one's this year on the James side of the family with Lily G, Rachel's baby Heidi that was born last month, Pat and Brandi's little boy due in November and then Crocker's. Family get togethers are going to be so much fun! Congrats to everyone, we love you all!!!

3 MONTHS OLD TODAY!

You can see here how fat her little legs are getting. We think they are adorable. My Granddaddy thinks she should be a lot fatter though. Sunday he was ready to feed her table food! He says he was feeding us mashed potatoes at 3 months. Just a little bit longer till her next doctor's appointment and it will be time to start!!

Stick 'em up!! Lily Grace is so funny when she sleeps, hands straight up. Yes, she is still sleeping in the pack-n-play at the foot of our bed! She sleeps so good there and we are just not ready to put her all the way down the hall in her own bedroom. Besides, sometime during the night she gets in the bed with us. I just love it and she loves it, too. The mornings are the best when she wakes up and turns to me and smiles. It brightens up the day! She is still sleeping throughout the night waking up at about 6 to eat and then back to sleep till about 10. Lets hope that keeps up!

We went to visit 'Aunt' Meg and cousin Hal last Tuesday. Maybe when Lily Grace gets a little bigger they will have more to do with each other. But aren't they cute!

Pop and Grandmommy with sweet Lily Grace. Yes, we had to try the Tokyo experience again even though the first one was horrible! This time it went great! Lily G really enjoyed it. It was great to spend some time with family at our favorite restaurant.

A sweet little family

Aunt KirKir with her friend Hunter from Houston, Texas that she met in Italy.

Uncle Skyler and Mommy.

Lily Grace loves MawMaw!!

Saturday we went to the lake. We had so much fun seeing the Deavours family because our last get together was 4th of July. Marty and I actually got to go swimming and riding Sea-doos this time. We had a lot of fun. That night we kept the girls and spent the night. McKenzie is going to be a great babysitter. She really knew what she was doing and Lily Grace loved playing with her.

Madelyn was more interested in playing with Marty! She fell in love with him and they played all night until Marty just couldn't take it anymore! They are such sweet little girls and we enjoyed getting to spend some time with them.

What a face! The shirt was too cute though. She was definitely worth the wait!
